Remember "Ohana"
A Review of Lilo and Stitch

I want to tell you about a movie I saw. It's called, Lilo and  Stitch.  Just in case, you haven't seen it I want to tell you about some of the main characters.  Lilo is a little girl that is very lonely and her parents died in a car accident.  Her sister is raising her.  Stitch is an experiment created by aliens.  They call him Experiment 626.  He was made to destroy things so they decided to put him on an asteroid by himself but he escapes.  He ends up crashing on Earth in Hawaii.  Lilo and her sister are having problems getting along and Lilo ask God to send her an angel but she gets Stitch.

Later, Lilo finds Stitch in an animal shelter where she thinks he is a dog and adopts him but he is using her because he is running from other aliens that want to take him back.  Stitch causes all kinds of problems for Lilo and her sister but Lilo loves him anyway.  Her sister wants to take him back because he is so much trouble but Lilo reminds her of "Ohana".  Ohana is a Hawaian term for Family.  She tells her Ohana means Family and Family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten.  So they keep Stitch and he begins to understand as Lilo shares the story of the Ugly Duckling.  He realizes he's lost and he wants a family but there have been too many problems and a social worker comes to get Lilo and take her away.

Stitch feels really bad because he now understands and Lilo ran away when she found out and has been kidnapped by the aliens.  Stitch then choose to risk his freedom to get Lilo back.  When they get her back and the queen comes to Earth, Stitch ask to say goodbye to Lilo and Nannie.  The queen asks who they are and Stitch says, "This is my family  it's small and broken... but still good.  Yep, still good."  The queen realizes that Stitch has learned to love and she chooses to let him stay with them on Earth.

We are like Stitch and have a choice to be good or bad.  We have the ability to walk through hard times with courage, faith and love.  Stitch had to learn to love.  I think we all are a little bit like Stitch and I think it is a good movie and you will enjoy it.  I recommend it to everyone.

We are all "OHANA"  - "we may look different but inside is what matters and its been there the whole time.  It's our choice."

Remember - Ohana means family and family means - nobody gets left behind or forgotten.
